But that's shallow, or just ignorant, which I am. God, it's hard to say, but since you ask and are seemingly sincere, here are some things I have heard/thought of: 1)learn to give less than 100%. For instance, take a portion of yourself and label it as "true." Keep this for yourself. 2) develop little bad habits, or little transgressions. These don't even necessarily need to be bad per se. For instance, shaking off the after-work nasties with yoga and water rather than swilling alcohol and stuffing your(my)self with food. 3)have children or a significant other or some group that depends on your successful degradation.
